Dartmouth Swimming Pool

This was probably one of my favourite community jobs so far. Dartmouth pool was originally just a total blank white space, for families it was a very sterile and booooorrrrrrrrring space!

I was asked by the trust to inject some fun, movement and colour. As the town is coastal they asked for a sea theme…

The baby pool, I filled with young characters and sealife who are happy and playful. To encourage new toddlers to the pool. As you move on to the shallow end of the pool the characters get a little more fun, at midpoint we added a sneaky shark and big whale. The whole length I filled with colourful seaweed and mackerel.

I also ran a colouring competition for the children to colour in their own mer people and ‘name’ a mer person.

In total I painted the pool area and waiting room, along with illustrating the windows throughout the entrance of the center and pool…
