Totnes Town Council
Totnes has a large square at the top of the highstreet, above this sits the ‘civic hall’. This building is positioned on 15 large pillars. The council asked for each pillar to be painted to link back to the town’s culture and heritage.
I split the pillars into three: countryside, river and town. Each pillar was painted in a dark green line work with key elements of each pillar in full colour.
As a main cut through for the town and car parks, using the limited colours meant the designs linked together without being overwhelming. I also hid snails, butterflies and bugs on each pillar for the children to count and find.
